TRANCHES

Many of the domains offered here are in sets or "tranches" of either five (a "full set") or less than a full set. To take the example of the offered tranche "a1c.help", this full set includes the five domain names:

a1c.help

a1chelp.com

a1chelp.org

a1chelp.net

a1chelp.us

Here in the US this Top Level Domain ("TLD") set - dot com, dot org, dot net, and dot us, is the original (going back to the 1980's) group of the Internet's first TLD's. Nowadays there are many hundreds of new TLD's (mostly introduced in the last 5-10 years). Many net users (especially "not young" net users) when hearing or seeing a new-TLD domain name like "a1c.help" will reflexively/incorrectly remember and recall this name as "a1chelp.com" or "a1chelp.org" instead... because that's the only way domain names were for many decades.

When your campaign owns and uses a premium domain name in one of these great new TLD's, it's a good investment to additionally acquire these same traditional-TLD names (as we offer here in our tranches).  Possessing and using these 5 TLD tranches brings you several benefits:

  • You indemnify your campaign against the too-common problem of prospects faulty memory & recall of your premium domain name
  • You acquire the creative flexibility to paint your campaigns in either a "traditional/establishment" flavor (via primary use of one or the other traditional TLD's in the tranche), or as a "something-new-and-exciting-cache" flavor (via primary use of the premium new-TLD domain name in the tranche)
  • You assure your brand a better degree of protection against any potential dilution of your promotional campaigns by too-close domain name neighbors (here in your PR space!) - potentially your direct competitors.

You'll most likely focus your development efforts on just one of the domain names in these 5 name tranches. The extra 4 names can be used for your own affiliate/associate friendly co-promotional assets & resources - or they can simply be web-forwarded to your primary used domain name instead.

TRANCHE  CODE  KEY

On the graphic logos of our offered tranches you'll see in the lower right hand corner either a small number "5" against a White-Circle background or a number less than 5 accompanied by a colored (green, yellow, red) circle background. These codes provide a quick overview of how many domains are offered in this tranche - plus (where less than 5 domain names are in the tranche) a quick overview of the threat level that the unavailable domains in this same name space may present your campaign investment:

  • "5" : the "5" symbol alone against the White-Circle background indicates that this is a complete 5 domain name tranche. As the A1C example above illustrates, the tranche will include the new-TLD name, plus the new-TLD-name-dot-com, the new-TLD-name-dot-org, the-new-TLD-name-dot-net, and the new-TLD-name-dot-US. Since you are acquiring the entire 5 domains in this name space, your campaign is perfectly protected against all the risks inherent in acquiring less than these 5 names (explained below) - you have no additional work to do here to protect your campaign investment;
  • # Number-less-than-5 against a Green-Circle background:  The number (1-4) indicates how many domain names we're offering in this tranche; The Green-Circle background indicates that there are fully-functioning/good-looking/serious-business websites residing on the missing domain names. This Green-Circle status indicates that all other (used/unavailable) names in this space are known, stable & no threat to your campaign investment. You can look at this situation in two opposite ways: you may not want your campaign diluted by and/or confused with potential competitors, so you'd judge these tranches undesirable - or conversely, you realize that residing on these nearby same-name domains enables you to effectively "ride on the coat tails" of these good-looking competitors' websites - that is, their substantial investments in this same name space presents your prospects a substantial validation that whether they're on your website or a nearby competitors website, this is a Serious-Business/Big-$ corner of the internet.  By creating a website in such a co-used name space, it's as if you're specifically locating your business in a busy/high-traffic specialty market among your competitors. You can share in this potential high traffic value created by your competitors simply by standing among them in this same-name space. (Tranches with these Green-Circle backgrounds are offered for less $ than our Full "5" tranche sets above);
  • # Less-than-5 within a Yellow-Circle background: The number (1-4) indicates how many domain names we're offering in this tranche. The Yellow-Circle background indicates that the missing domain names are either empty/not-used (name not resolving to any website), or have a "domain-for-sale", or "parked-here" website displaying. The most important attribute these 'little-used' domain names share is that the owner can be determined and contacted - these missing domain names may be purchasable from their current (non-ailment.domains) owner. If you don't acquire these seemingly-available names, you risk the possibility of a substantial competitor eventually showing up on one of these same-name domains and riding on YOUR coat tails - taking advantage of the busy net traffic your investments have created. To the degree that you desire your campaign investment here to be bullet-proof secure, you have additional work to do investigating and/or acquiring these seemingly-available names not included in this tranche. (Tranches with these Yellow-Circle backgrounds are offered for less $ than our Green-Circle tranche sets above);
  • # Less-than-5 within a Red-Circle background: The number (1-4) indicates how many domain names we're offering in this tranche. The Red-Circle background indicates that one or more of the missing domain names (usually not resolving to any web page at all) has an obscured/unknowable ownership. Nowadays many domain name registrations default to a super-privacy registration mode where it's impossible to determine who the owner is, and it's impossible to contact them for any purpose. The risk here is the unpredictable/non-stable status of these kinds of domains in your same name space. There's no additional work for you to do here - but there's a risk to your campaign investment in one or more of these same-name neighbors. The tranche name is otherwise greatly desirable - and because of this potential serious risk in this same name space - is the lowest $ priced tranche that we offer. (Tranches with these Red-Circle backgrounds are offered for less $ than our Yellow-Circle tranches above.)

NOTE: Where a tranche of less-than-5 names is offered and there are mixed types of missing domain names (some that may rate as "Green-Circle" along with some that may rate as "Yellow-Circle" or "Red-Circle"), we conservatively rate/and-mark the tranche set the status of it's lowest rated missing domain name.
